Former mayor of Iloilo City Jed Mabilog stated that he is not going to present accusations against former President Rodrigo Duterte, who accused him of having ties to illegal drug trafficking and sought political asylum abroad. In an interview with NewsWatch Plus, Mabilog noted that he is even ready to meet with the former president. "Sana mabilogyaan ako ng oppurtuniti na ma-mit siya in God's time and God's plan for me to be able to present to him kung ano ang talagang nangyari na klaseng person, my person," Mabilog said. Only on January 15, former President Bongbong Marcos presented to him a pardon, freeing him from administrative sanctions imposed by Ombudsman. "For me, it's important that I was presented with a pardon by President Bongbong Marcos, which means that justice has been restored. I only spoke the truth, especially during the hearings at the Commission on Narcotic Affairs and even at the hearings. And, I don't know, did they come? Therefore, I just click the button on the page, everything that is there, to continue my life with love and peace among all," he noted. The former mayor also confirmed the statements of Salvador Panelo, former press secretary and chief legal advisor to the president, about the fact that the pardon represents an attack on the reputation of the former president. "I never attacked the reputation of the former president. Nandito na ba sila? I never attacked anyone's reputation at all," Mabilog said. Mabilog also stated that he remains ready to give testimony before the International Criminal Court regarding the alleged narcotrafficking of Duterte. "I will just tell them what really happened. The same information that I gave at those hearings. I have no ideas. I will pass the bridge when I get to it," he said.
